Groups of the 2010-2011 Leadership Hopkinsville Class were assigned to four different non-profit agencies in Hopkinsville/Christian County. Dyslexia Association of the Pennyrile was chosen as one of the four groups. In March, each group made a persuasive presentation on why their group should receive a $1,000 reward. Our group won. Note: The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association is under revision. As now proposed dyslexia will be classified under Neurodevelopment Disorders.

With a name and number in this all important document, diagnosticians will be less hesitant to use the word, dyslexia, in reports.
